Word 4 Weapons is a Christian based organisation started by Michael Smith in 2007, after several years of seeing too many young lives being lost to gun and knife crime.
Weapons were, and still are being openly used on our streets leaving individuals in fear, injured or killed. Something different had to be done to bring back the true value of life to a society that is becoming numb to violent crime.

The answer came loud and clear,
"Ask the young people to swap their weapons for one of ours".
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5; "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds". It was on the basis of this principle that Word for Weapons was formed.
There are several strands to this programme;
- Providing guidance to young people, their parents and guardians.
- Working in partnership with organisations who share our aim.
- Providing secure bins where weapons can be deposited.
