W4W Weapon Surrender Bins “Together Partnership“
Making communities safer for all.
About Word 4 Weapons
Word 4 Weapons has been a leading weapons surrender charity in the UK for the last 17 years, supplying knife bins to a number of police forces, community groups and faith organisations.
Past awards have been given out to London’s Air Ambulance who received a ‘Life Saver’ Gold Key’ Community Award, from Word 4 Weapons, recognising the work the charity does responding to and treating casualties of gun and knife crime in the Capital. For their commitment to our cause all awards were presented by Michael Smith MBE and were engraved accordingly.
Now, with the UK’s dramatic increase in knife crime, the Charity is expanding its area of operation to include a range of new education services including training for youth workers, awareness sessions and a range of useful resources.
Most people agree that the recent frightening increase in knife crime can only be tackled by a multi-faceted approach and we believe that our new services will help ensure Word 4 Weapons can play a full and active part in the solution.

Need to dispose of a knife?
If you need to carry a knife to put it in a bin, first wrap it in several layers of cardboard or paper and secure it with plenty of sticky tape so that the blade is completely protected and the knife cannot easily be removed. Although it is still an offence to have a knife in a public place, it is considered reasonable to carry it directly to a knife bin if it is wrapped in this way.
If you have a knife you want to get rid of find out where your nearest knife disposal bin is. To find your nearest Word for Weapons knife bin click here for a map.
